learn to throw on a potter’s wheel
Summer and Fall Wheel
Our semi outdoor wheel throwing studio is a safe and welcoming environment. Our classes offer a Potter’s Wheel 101 and demonstrations of other useful and advanced techniques. With the guidance of teaching artist and expert potter, Tom Dykas, learn to center, open, pull and throw clay upwards shaping your work into something you will love and appreciate for the rest of your life.
We offer a Parent/Child class on Saturdays + Level I (beginner) and Level 2 (intermediate) classes for adults. Tuition for all classes includes clay, glaze, two kiln firings as well as all the clay tools necessary to make your pottery great.
Everyone is welcome in our beginners’ classes. Intermediate class: please have taken a beginners level class or arrive with solid previous experience. The 3-hour intermediate class provides extended independent time + guidance from the instructor to help you find your voice and refine your wheel throwing practice. Clay, glaze and firing included.
Classes meet once a week for 6 weeks. Class will be cancelled (via email) in the case of extreme or dangerous weather and rescheduled to the seventh week. Our mask policy will be determined this spring.
