Beginner, intermediate and Plein air Painting Classes for adults
Colorbridge teaching artists work with students from toddler to adult all with various abilities and experience. Our classes are designed to help students progress in confidence and abilities while in a community centric and supportive group.
In the beginning class, students are introduced to the technical and conceptual foundations of painting through exploration into color theory, 2D design theory and art history. Intermediate classwork continues building on the foundation, allowing for enjoyment in at home practice.
Lessons include sketching, under painting, color schemes, texture studies and life painting. Plein air painting includes an introduction to pallet knife. Locations take place in St. Louis city and county parks. Location details will be given a few weeks before class.
No previous art experience is required for the beginner painter. To sign up for intermediate and plein air painting classes, we ask that you have a thorough understanding and of the concepts listed in the first paragraph. To make the classes enjoyable for all, please register for your level of knowledge (not experience or ability).
Tuition $195 (all materials are included. 6 week sessions, 6 students max.)
All classes except plein air are from 6pm to 8pm on the designated evening in the studio on Macklind.
